View Article  Minivox - Solicitors Protest

An interview with a group of solicitors protesting in Islington against planned reforms to the Legal Aid system.

They argue that these 'reforms' will force legal aid solicitors out of business; dramatically affect defendants access to the legal advice of their choice and diminish the quality of legal representation in court.

This was originally intended for inclusion in the Yahoo Timecapsule project. Sadly, in the run-up to this years PodcasConUK I forgot to upload it in time. Rather than waste it, I thought I'd give it a home here on vox in the hope someone would get some pleasure form hearing it. :)

LATE NEWS
The cost of dismantling Brians protest has been confirmed as £27,754. This followed an earler unconfirmed report that the original costing of £7,200 was wildly innacurate, and that the actual figure was as high as £50,000. Metropolitan Police Chief Sir Ian Blair has now confirmed the figure of £27,754 to the press.
